An antibiotic drop used to treat bacterial infections of the eyes (such as conjunctivitis). It works by stopping the action of a bacterial enzyme, thereby killing the bacteria causing the infection. In doing so, it helps reduce redness, swelling, and discomfort in the eye. Instill the prescribed number of drops into the affected eye. It may cause a temporary burning or stinging sensation upon application.
