In a medium saucepan, heat water, butter, sugar, and salt until boiling.
Add flour to the boiling mixture and stir vigorously until the mixture forms a ball.
Remove from heat and let the dough cool for 5 minutes, then add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C).
Transfer the dough to a pastry bag fitted with a large star tip.
Pipe strips of dough into the hot oil, cutting them to desired length.
Fry the churros until golden brown, then remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
