A tangy and spicy South Indian style chutney that pairs perfectly with idli, dosa, and other breakfast foods.
Heat oil in a pan.
Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
Add urad dal, dried red chilies, and curry leaves. Sauté until they turn golden brown.
Add garlic and onions and sauté until onions become translucent.
Add tomatoes and salt. Cook until tomatoes are mushy and oil separates.
Let the mixture cool and then blend it to a smooth paste.
Transfer the chutney to a serving bowl.
Serve with idli, dosa, or as a condiment for various dishes.
